Sage Advocacy - Healthcare Advocate & End of Life Doula

Hello. I am Tia Sugrue, the owner and operator of Sage Advocacy, LLC. 

It has been a long strange journey to get here. I have been advocating across healthcare settings my whole life, for myself, my children, my aging parents, and many other loved ones to achieve optimal wellbeing including dying with dignity.

I have a Masters of Healthcare Administration,  Masters of Science in Family and Human Development with a concentration in geriatrics, a Bachelor's degree in Human Services, and an Associate's degree in Human Service/Early Childhood. I have been an advocate of one kind or another for the past twenty five years, with the last several years specifically  dedicated to caring for the elderly or infirm in Skilled Nursing Care Settings and ensuring their psychosocial and individualized healthcare needs are met, as well as counseling their families. 

I am currently a practicing End-of-Life Doula and have served in this capacity. While certification is required to practice, I am working with International End of Life Doula Association to become certified. I have a great deal of experience helping people transition from this world while helping those they leave behind through the transition. I seek to bring dignity and compassion to end of life, offering comfort and presence, witnessing, and assisting others through their stages of grief.   I assist with vigil planning to ensure end of life wishes are upheld and with legacy projects.
